Scientific Methodology

We reject marketing claims in favor of empirical validation. Our data is sourced exclusively from AASM guidelines, peer-reviewed validation studies, and raw device data outputs (EDF files).

Hardware Evaluation Criteria

  • 1. Sensor Modality Validation Does the physical sensor (e.g., optical PPG) actually possess the physical capability to measure the claimed metric (e.g., EEG sleep stages)? Usually, no.
  • 2. Sample Size in Trials We flag validation studies with n < 30 as statistically insignificant for general population claims.
  • 3. Conflict of Interest We heavily discount studies funded directly by the hardware manufacturer unless raw data is openly provided.

Clinical Tooling Standards

  • Validated Questionnaires Only Our diagnostic tools (e.g., STOP-BANG, Epworth) use the exact scoring rubrics utilized in clinical settings. We do not invent proprietary "wellness scores."
  • Transparent Math Every calculator explicitly states its pharmacokinetic or behavioral formula (e.g., the half-life constant used for caffeine clearance).
